Somehow I don't see Mom sporting this as the latest in fall fashion.

WHY should I?

Fine - we hear hunters in the area around the farm and Mom and Irish just want me to be safe.

What - I did just say Fall, right? Then WHAT is this?

THIS IS HEAVEN!

Snow in October! (Yes that means I'm couple weeks late with this post - at least I didn't have to wait until summer!)

I am chest deep is this dreamy white stuff - and couldn't be happier!

Do you think there might be sticks hiding under here? I do!

Now that Irish has been so kind as to install high speed wifi at Five Fields (that's what I named the farm) - I should be able to blog more often!

At The Farm - ON THE COUCH

As you can see by the stern look on my face - I AM NOT HAPPY.
It's been months since I was allowed computer access so I could blog.
And my people took a walk in the country without me - so I protested by sitting on their precious couch. SO THERE.

QUICK UPDATES

I'm now a year old (and some change). Gee - you would think there would have been a party with lots of pictures! NOT.

I am enjoying my playtime at our NYC dog run - and loving my weekends at the farm. (I think we should call it Five Fields Farms - since there are indeed 5 different fields/meadows for me to play in).

I am sad that Aunt D is moving to a new neighborhood and won't be right around the corner from us (although she promises to meet us in Central Park).

I am embarrassed that my blog has been slacking and PROMISE to be better at posting.

I've been spending time in Daycare every Thursday - and LOVE IT!

I'm very lucky that when Mom is out of town on business Irish takes me up to the Farm for some quality one on one time! Man and his dog - does it get any better?

I am officially a BIG GIRL - meaning I am crate free day and night.
Of course I have found the best place to sleep is curled up with Mom!

Now that took all of 5:00 to pull together. I will make sure I get more computer time - and to reward myself I think Mom should take me to dinner at Parnell's tonight with Aunt D so we can BOTH wish her a fond neighborhood farewell - and celebrate her new adventure on the west side !

AKA Pizza & Puppy Night

Mom and Miss D are the only 2 in the office who have yet to see the movie, THE HANGOVER. Now that the sequel is out - and the original is "on demand" - they decided to get together for a little pizza and wine to watch the movie. Sounded like a good idea so I joined in.

(I got biscuits and lots of pets - but these 2 gals were not about to share their pizza or wine).

The verdict - it was ok.

Funny yes - but does not compare to the classics -

Caddy Shack - or Animal House.

Bradley Cooper - that's another story.

Let's just say that man can give me belly rubs anytime! Yum.

Almost Perfect

This morning was almost perfect.

Due and I met up at the corner and strolled to Central Park.

The rains have passed and the sun was out. BEAUTIFUL.

Due's been under the weather. He was just diagnosed with Addison's Disease. He got his meds and is on the mends so it was terrific to be back with him in The Park.

We romped and made all the other dogs jealous.

I basked in the dappled sunlight, with a stick, some mud stains,

and my tongue a-waggin'.

THEN THIS.

I hid my harness at The Farm so Mom and Irish would "forget" to bring it back with us last week. I thought I'd "run free" and drag Mom

willy-nilly up and down the streets of Manhattan.

At least that was MY plan.

But NOOOOOOOOO. Mom caught my friend Parker wearing one of these. A "Gentle Leader".

She had a chat with Parker's Mom - who told her it was indeed "the best" option. Really cuts down on the pulling, etc. Irish keeps mentioning a choke collar - and Mom has resisted. I hear her asking around and folks who have tried both say the Gentle Leader is the way to go.

Due doesn't care. He's by my side no matter what. I still think this is ridiculous. I have asked every doorman on my block for assistance in the removal of this device.

No such luck.

So to get even - I did what only a dog could do.

Quietly laid in a muddy puddle while the peeps had brunch!

So there!

A Sticky Situation

Listen up People. This is not that complicated.

THIS IS A COMMON VARIETY GARDEN/YARD/FARM STICK...

And when you leave these items laying around,

they will also be considered (for canine purposes)..STICKS

Not a "screwdriver" or a "weeder"

If you don't pick up after yourself....your sticks may just end up where the rest of mine do...

buried somewhere in acres of meadows....good luck!

I think we can all take a way a few valuable lessons...

1) Pick up your tools

2) Bright handles are a good idea.

3) and if you don't pick up....HAPPY HUNTING!

You may have noticed that I have a stick obsession. I'm a 8 month old puppy, spending her weekends either at The Farm or The Park. Sticks are my life.

Sticks for Mom!

I've been very busy at The Farm and my assistant has been dearly lacking in her blogging assignments. For that I must apologize.

This weekend was very busy. It was Mom's birthday - and although I have yet to celebrate one - if this was any indication - I too will look forward to my own 4 day holiday extravaganza!

First we had to gather sticks.

Then I had to trim then down a little to get them JUST RIGHT. Apparently we needed kindling for a little bonfire. 'smores were on the menu and since I can't do the grocery shopping - I thought I would add my sticks as a contribution.

Of course I had to take a moment to catch a butterfly or too.

A girl's got to enjoy herself!

Here is all that's left of my hard work.
The important thing - we all had a good time sitting around the fire, staring at the stars in the sky, and roasting marshmallows. I understand the 'smores were very tasty.

Smiles all around!

That's right. I'm about to catch you up on my FABULOUS week - but I will have to do so without any recent photos of MOI. Why you ask? My personal photographer is slacking in her duties.

So thanks to the World Wide Web - here's what I've been up to.

I got to spend my first 2 days at sleep-away camp. Unlike the dogs above - I had no ocean to frolic in - but I still had a great time. Everyone took great care of me and I can't wait to go back. After all, I am still cute and adorable - as evidenced by this photo of me when I was 4 weeks old!

SATURDAY - Central Park! I met up with my man, Due and we headed over to the park. We had a good romp - although I try to stay clear of these fellas. SUNDAY IS PANCAKE DAY. We have a tradition of Blueberry Pancakes on Sunday mornings. We needed more of the magic batter stuff -so we went to the grocery store - and I proudly carried this container all the way back to the apartment - IN MY MOUTH. Now that would have been one cute photo - ha! After breakfast dishes were done - it was back here for day #2 Then we headed west for a little sidewalk dining. Not in Paris - but kind of like this.

The mean restaurant people made me sit OUTSIDE the railing - although I kept trying to sneak in to curl up under the table. I guess I can only do that on the East Side!

That's OK. After lunch we headed over to this HUGE dog park right next to the Natural History Museum. All in all - a pretty great week. Too bad there are no photos of ME enjoying it!

YES - Life is SWEET!

I am exhausted from having SO MUCH FUN at The Farm this weekend - that my little bed was not enough for me.

I let my nyla-bone have the dogbed - I needed a little more room to stretch out in - so I just took over Mom's favorite comfy chair !

I don't think she minded - after all - she left this little step stool in front of it to help me come and go!

Note to Ellie - that's a Foot Rest - not a Step Stool! Now get out of my chair! -Mom

What is so difficult for the 2-legged ones to understand?

I have a bed at The Farm. That's where I will hang out when you two decide to go village hopping, grabbing a bite, antique shopping, WHATEVER.

There is no need to resort to THIS. A travel crate. (Shown here in it's upright - "before" position)

Here is what it looked like when they returned after 3 HOURS of being left to my own devices.

Flipped on it's side - which by the way is NOT difficult to do if you have MY talents.

Unzipped. Yes - my people assist the blind - we can certainly figure out how to UNZIP something.

I was waiting - napping - right inside the front door. NOTHING WAS DESTROYED. I just didn't see the need to be confined. WHY is that so difficult for you people to understand?

Mom made me take a bath before she left for work. SMART DOG that I am....I made such a mess that Mom then had to take a 2nd shower before she headed out! HA! GOTCHA!

We stayed in the city this weekend - which means CENTRAL PARK SATURDAY.

I ran.

Due chased me.

And I ran.

Then the battery died on Mom's camera so that's all the photos we have.

Torture Device #1

How else do you explain a grin - while wearing a HARNESS?

That's right. A HARNESS.

Apparently MOM doesn't like it when I pull her around like a crazy pup

on our walks. She CLAIMS her back hurts and that I'm "too strong"

(Seriously People, like that's even a possibility).

Let's not forget - it seems my Big Sis - Abbey was a

PERFECT LITTLE PUPPY IN EVERY WAY.

Whatever! (I think Mom's just too old to remember the trials and tribulations of

Puppyhood with Saint Abbey. )

She went to the neighborhood pet store - a place I USUALLY like very much -

and they recommended this.

I DON'T LIKE IT.

I DON'T LIKE being yanked around when I want to run FREE.

Let's face it - there are birds, and squirrels and even those little Styrofoam

packing peanuts - just ASKING TO BE CHASED down the streets of Manhattan.

I think that it is my BIRTHRIGHT to chase things. All things.

OK - maybe chasing those nasty yellow cars I see everywhere is not a good idea -

but everything else should be fair game.

SO I SHOWED HER.

Now you may wonder HOW I managed to get my chin under the chest strap. I'M A PUPPY. I CAN DO ANYTHING AS LONG AS IT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION!!!!!

(Note from EM - take harness off immediately upon returning to the apartment)

I had it made. No more Harness. I was doing the "Happy Puppy Dance".

Unfortunately - that lasted for less than 24 hours as we were right back at the Pet Store - buying yet another one. Of course - since Mom needed it ASAP - she paid twice as much for it at the neighborhood store - than she would have if she had given me a few days of harness-freedom and simply ordered it online.

Well at least this time it's a LBH (Little Black Harness). Now what did I do with my pearls?

Note from EM (Ellie's Mom) - since the Ellester needed a 2nd harness - it came out of her allowance - which means no treats or new toys - for the next 2 weeks. HA!

UPDATE: As I was typing this - Elle was laying quietly next to me on the floor - CHEWING OFF HER NEW HARNESS!!!! We are going out to enjoy this BEAUTIFUL spring day - have dinner at a sidewalk cafe, etc. so I did not take the harness off after our "after work walk". I was just going to publish a quick post - that had already been written - and she did it AGAIN!

I know. She's a puppy. She chews. I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT OFF IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTERING THE APARTMENT. UGH! At $30 a pop - this is starting to add up.

UPDATE #2: Mom and I go back to the Pet Store, but they don't have the right harness. I go back to the DUNGEON while Mom and Aunt D go to dinner. THEN - they pick me up and we all head back to the Pet Store. Somehow the forces of evil came together and not one - but TWO harness suddenly appear. I try on #1 - lovely and black - but too small. (My luck is holding out!)

Oh no - it's red - and it fits. What's a girl to do!

You would think that with all of these options - I'd be able to work my charm on SOMEONE - ANYONE and grab a couple of these to brighten up my Jail Cell. NO SUCH LUCK.

I will be pouting for the remainder of the evening.

How you doin'?

I - am fabulous! Another weekend in the country.

We still had LOTS of snow to play in....

And after hours of rompin' around the grounds - it was time to rest.

I thought I would just stay here ALL NIGHT.

But the 2-Legged ones had other plans.

Yes. A travel crate. I thought I had escaped from confinement

and was free to roam as I please.

So on one hand I now have lots of open space to play in - no fences - no restrictions -

PURE FREEDOM...

And then this. Oh brother!

The only thing worse than a new crate - being told I need to get in the car - after I witness our bags being loaded in the trunk - this can only mean one thing - it's time to head back to the city.

I'm not ready - and I'm not going. Period.

Yes- that's a new harness. I'm sure Mom will take great pleasure in telling you how that happened - another time.

City Girl - Country Girl

Yep - I am one lucky dog.

Look where I spent my Saturday!

Our dear friend, The Irish Man, invited us to his beautiful old farm outside of The City - it's the perfect weekend escape for all of us.

Look at the tractor that came with the place.

How fun is this going to be come spring!

Until then, there's still lots of snow for me to play in - I could get use to this!

Mom and Irish are looking forward to fixing up the place. I don't know what needs fixing. This can be my room. I'll put the dog bed right here.

Apparently 2-legged ones need furniture, etc. to feel at home so after a few hours we headed back to The City. Before we left there was a lot of measuring, note taking and discussions of putting this here and that there. I don't know what all the fuss is about. I had a blanket on the floor and was ready to stay the entire weekend.

I looking forward to coming back! A weekend in the country is just what this city girl needs to relax. Of course I still love my Saturday Central Park routine - but there's something to be said for acres and acres of open field - and fresh air! Hey Mom - do you think Irish will let me plant my very own garden out there?

Have no fear.

Today's visit to the vet was just routine puppy business.

I needed a couple more shots and some new heartworm meds....

and apparently a weigh-in!

I checked in at a healthy 35lbs. this afternoon.

That's 10 pounds more than I weighed on my first visit just a few weeks ago!

Ahhhh - I was such a cute little thing back then!

(And by back then - I mean LAST MONTH!)

OK - so this scale was for cats - how was I to know?

I can't even fit on it now!

Who knows - next visit I might not even fit on the table!

Note from Ellie's Mom - When I asked the vet how much she thought Ellie would weigh as a healthy adult dog - she guessed over 70lbs. When I asked why - her Mom was only 60 lbs - Dr. Parr pointed out Ellie's ENORMOUS paws!

Let's just say we think she will take after her father -

who is around 80 lbs.

Joy to be a D O G and run free kind of day.

Due and I made the most of it in Central Park.

Even with most of the snow gone.

I found a special patch behind this little fence.

Mom said I'm not suppose to be in here - but I'M A PUPPY!

(Which means I ignore MOST of what she says)

I keep running. Due keeps chasing!

And then we rest!

1 Day - 2 Parks!

Apparently Mom had plans for Saturday night - so the plan for Saturday day -

was to wear me out! HA!

First stop - Central Park

Due and I wrestle by the Balto statue.

Then it's off to field #2...

Now this is fun!

There's another golden who's teaching me to "retrieve"...

But I heard Mom needs coffee...

BACON? Did somebody say we get bacon here?

Do you have the bacon?

Cooper and Max show me the proper "bacon begging" approach.

As we headed home - we came across some of the horse-drawn carriages that

operate in Central Park.

I'm not sure about the horses....that's a little frightening....

Have no fear - Due will protect me!

We head home for a nap - then it's on to Park #2 - Our neighborhood dog run!

You would think with all this activity - I would have been one tired pup - but nope.

Mom went to a dinner party upstairs - only to come home to discover a note left from

an unhappy neighbor.

I didn't like being left alone - so I barked solid from 8pm until she got home at 10pm! Unfortunately no one called the doorman - as Mom always tells him where she can be found (she was on the 10th floor - didn't even leave the building).

I know Mom's upset with my behavior - any suggestions? I overheard her talking about next time lowering the crate cover and turning off all the lights so I think it's bedtime. There's been talk of a collar that will spray me when I bark - UGH!

So THIS is Central Park!

Today was my first trip to CENTRAL PARK.

I had no idea what to expect - Due (the older man in my life who apparently had a thing for big sis, Abbey) said to just follow his lead!

First - Mom took my leash OFF. I got to run free!

Then I played a little Hide ' n Seek with the Dueman.

I don't really understand why he tried to eat my head?

Then came the Kangaroo Hop!

I was too pooped when we got home to make it all the way upstairs.

I just wanted to hang out greeting my neighbors at the door with Joseph.

What a day.

I understand this was an abbreviated journey to the Park. The sidewalks were icy - and Mom fell down on the black ice. (No - I was NOT pulling).

It was just too tough to get around so we opted for a coffee break on Lexington Avenue.

I never thought I would say this - but I'm looking forward to the snow melting so we can spend more time in the Park.

PS. Mom is fine. Her knee is just a little scraped up. Nothing that would slow her down!

I am thrilled to be able to share with you some very exciting news. Abbey is one of the pups featured in the upcoming book The Dogs of Central Park.

Photographer Fran Reisner has spent the last few years working on this beautiful book about the amazing dogs who call New York City's Central Park their own! Abbey & Due (along with Due's peeps) met Fran one spring Saturday morning in the Park. Although I was out of town, we met up again when she returned that summer.

Last week I received an email from Fran informing me that the book (published by Rizzoli), was coming out this spring - and that Abbey made the cut. I treasure this photo and all it respresents. It's a lovely reminder of the many beautiful days we spent together in Central Park.

Sadly I had to inform Fran that Abbey had lost her battle with cancer just a few months ago. She will be one of 4 NYC dogs who will appear posthumously in this book.

Thank you to Fran for including Abbey - and for creating a beautiful book about 2 of my favorite things - dogs - and Central Park!

If the weather holds out - Ellie will get to discover Central Park this SUNDAY!!!

I Don't THINK So!

Can anyone explain to me WHY I must be tortured so?

First - Mom takes me to see the nice people at Bideawee (my vet's). They let me run around - I found my first C A T - they all want to pet my soft puppy coat - it's heaven!

Next thing I know - they knock me out - cold. I'm confused as to what really went on after that. All I know is my tummy hurts a little - I have a stitch or two - I'm been implanted with some weird sci-fi chip - and WORSE OF ALL - I have this silly thing ON MY HEAD - which means I can't scratch my itch! Oh the agony!!!!

Mom is trying to make me feel better. She gave me a "happy pill" this morning - IN PEANUT BUTTER - she's hanging out with me all day - AND she tells me that in 10 days....I get to go to a special park that is just for dogs!

So I'm starting the countdown....10 days......

From Ellie's Mom - What a drama queen! She's fine - and is recovering from her spaying procedure. The comfy cone - was Abbey's - she's getting use to it. The weird "sci-fi" chip is a micro chip. Something I always meant to do for Abbey but never got around to. We are BOTH looking forward to longer walks and lots of playtime at our neighborhood dog run - as well as CENTRAL PARK!

House Arrest

I wanted to explain why I have been slacking in my posting duties.

I'M UNDER HOUSE ARREST!

Apparently I need one more booster shot before I can play with other pups. That will happen on Tuesday, Jan. 25. Until then - no adventures. I'm only allowed outside to take care of business.

Thank goodness for the snow. That's right. SNOW. I think as a golden it's genetic.

Mom let me play in it at the end of our street after our morning "business walk".

I LOVE SNOW.

I love to look at it.

I love to stick my face in it.

I love to spin in it!

I LOVE SNOW!

I'm counting the days - until I get to make my neighborhood debut -

I hear there's a DOG PARK right around the corner!!!!

A New Year

Abbey's Life Lessons will return next Monday - and will continue to be a Monday Feature on our blog. I promised Abbs that I would always find room to love another golden girl - so in honor of her - and everything that she taught me - I'd like to introduce you to......

Eleanor Roosevelt - better known as ELLIE!

In Abbey's honor - I am turning over the reigns of this blog to our newest family member.

It's all yours Elle!

I'm a little overwhelmed here. I'm 14 weeks old - and have spent my young life on a beautiful farm in southeastern PA. My new Mom came to pick me up this morning - and 2-1/2 hrs later - I'M A NEW YORK CITY GIRL!

Mom and her friends Mr. T and Miss Liv met me in Pennsylvania for our journey to NYC.

I found the car ride very relaxing. There's was even a dog bed for me - I thought it might be even more comfortable to sleep UNDER the bed. Very cozy.

Apparently there were snacks in the back seat - but Miss Liv was in charge of keeping me in my luxurious cargo area. (I had toys - a bed - a blanket - but those snacks looked tempting)

When we got home - I discovered just how lucky I am...

There's Mom's chair. OK - so I'm not really suppose to be in it . I'm learning.

My big sis Abbey, left me her dog bed. I promise to take good care of it!

There's my new crate - with it's own custom slipcover.

I even have my own little pop-up "Pup Tent". Mom thought this would be great for weekend trips outside the city. I think it's pretty cozy!

So there you have it. I'm going to do my best to fill some pretty big paws. I look forward to sharing my stories and adventures with you. Right now - I think it's time to nap!

It came too quick. Abbey's cancer progressed faster than I had ever imagined. 2 weeks ago we were playing in her beloved Central Park. Today I had to let her go. She had difficulty breathing - and lost her strength. She gave me everything - she didn't deserve to suffer - and she let me know it was time.

Thank you to all of our friends and family here in NYC, around the country and in the blogworld. You have touched our hearts. As promised Abbey left behind a notebook full of her "life lessons" . She taught me something every day. Remembering those lessons makes me smile.

I will take a few days to try to let my broken heart mend just a little- but she made me promise to share her lessons - so I will. I promised her that I would post a new ALL (Abbey Life Lesson) every Monday.

As much as I mourn the loss of my dear Abbey, I celebrate the life and love that we shared.

Being near my love

Due has come over every day. Just having him around has been a comfort - even if I don't feel like playing. I've noticed that he's dividing his attentions between me & Mom. We both are benefiting from his brand of TLC.

Ben - Please thank your Mom for her suggestion about rotating food. You were right. Boiled chicken was fine once. Then it was Chicken & Bacon. Somehow that didn't smell appetizing today...(which is hard to believe since BACON was involved.) Mom fixed me a bowl of scrambled eggs this afternoon...I ate the whole thing. I hear HAMBURGERS are on the list.

As promised, this is the beginning of my series of posts on Abbey's Life Lessons. I got the idea from my TV crush, LeRoy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) of NCIS. Gibbs has many rules - I like to think of them as lessons. Here we go...

Just in case you might doubt my wisdom on this, try adding a little crumble of crispy BACON to a frozen Weight Watchers Mac 'n Cheese "Smart Ones".

Trust me....it's better with BACON*.

And that, Is Abbey's Life Lesson #1.

Please note: By BACON, I mean the real thing. This does NOT include turkey bacon, or so called "Bac-O's" . I have never tried "Beggin' Stripes" but again - it's all imitation of the real thing.

One thing Mom and I agree on REAL FOOD. We might have to eat less of it - but it's 100x better (and better for you) than fake food. At least that's our story and we're stickin' to it!

Note from Abbey's Mom: Abbs isn't very hungry these days and I thought we found the answer in boiled chicken breasts. That wasn't working this morning - so on Ben's suggestion....I took a piece of chicken - topped it with a bite of BACON - viola. She didn't eat a lot - but she ate some. Ah - the beauty of bacon!

Date Night with Due

Before I begin tonight's post I would like to thank everyone for their kind and loving messages. Mom and I are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support we have received from around the globe. One of the many things that I have learned is "There Are DOG People. PERIOD." We are privileged to know you. Now for tonight's post...

Mom spoke with one of our favorite vets today, Dr. Solomon from Bideawee. She mentioned how Due had been over the other night and was helping me by just being there - and getting me to eat some biscuits. Dr. Solomon mentioned that this journey will be hard on Due as it is for the peeps. She thought it would help if we spent some time together.

Mom went and grabbed Du around 3pm this afternoon. We hung out. Watched some TV. (Where's an NCIS marathon when you need one). He got me to eat some chicken. And we napped. We had some biscuits. We napped.

Due's Dad, Tom came to pick him up around 8:30 this evening. Mom and I went out with them as far as the curb and headed back in. As we very visiting with Alberto - (one of my favorite doormen) - I saw Du was still outside the big double doors to our building. His Dad explained that he put the brakes on and didn't want to leave. He offered to let him sleep over.

You have to understand that Due's Dad is the Top Alpha Dog. He's the Pack Leader. Du loves him more than I love BACON. He turns into a Velcro dog around his Pop. Not tonight. Due chose me over his dad. He came back upstairs and didn't look back.

Mom figured this might last for a few minutes. Mom was wrong. Due and I are curled up for the night. We're going to hold onto each other as long as we can.

I am one lucky dog. It doesn't matter where you live. It doesn't matter how many dog beds you have. How many cars you have to ride in. What matters are the loved ones you share your life with. 2, 3 or 4 legged. It's their hearts that matter. Mine is swelling with more love than I ever thought was possible.

So I'm going to go cuddle with my Du, dream about my Ben and be thankful for all the love in my life. Of course Mom is still looking for George Clooney - but that's another story all together.

The Journey Begins

Best Friends....and a few biscuit crumbs

We got the test results today and I could have told you what the Doc was going to say. I've known for a few days - but I just didn't know how to let Mom in on it. I already told you guys - she's a weeper.

I have cancer. A whoopin' tumor in my lung...and it's spread throughout both my lungs. (At least I think I have 2 lungs - what do I know - I didn't go to Medical School). Anyways - it's zapping my energy, making it hard for me to breath - and the worse part - no appetite. Chemo is not really an option. We could try - but even the experts at AMC said it would not help - and the side effects would make me miserable with the little time I have left.

The Doc said it could be days - maybe a week or two. Mom made me promise to let her know when it's time. And I will. See I may be going - but I know I will be in Mom's heart forever. (I have that effect on people)

This is tough. I'm not done. I thought I'd have more time. I have a lot of lessons left to teach her. (Come on people, let's face it - we ALL know she's a work in progress) I've worked very hard these last 9 years. Teaching her that it's ok to have your heart broken - (although we both could have done without THAT particular lesson, Cowboy). I taught her that NYC is a great place to live. I taught her that when you think you're homesick for Washington, DC - maybe that just means you need to spend more time in Central Park. (Seriously - best place IN THE UNIVERSE). I taught her that you can find love - just look at me and Due. I also taught her that you can find love online (Ben - be still my heart). OK - fine. 2-timing your hometown love with an internet romance is wrong - IF YOU HAVE 2 LEGS - it's fine for 4 legged - or in Ben's case 3 legged). Seriously Mom - have you heard about match.com - all the kids are doing it!

I didn't get around to all the lessons. Before I teach her how to say goodbye - I want to teach her that it's okay to love another golden girl. In fact I insist upon it. She has many more lessons to learn and I can't do it all myself. I'm sure Due will help - but he needs a golden girl too.

So although I fear I have made my last trip to Central Park - please don't feel sorry for me. It's been a great ride. I love my Mom - and she loves me. We have amazing friends. I got to cover the New Hampshire primary. I got to spend a month with Miss Sarah while Mom was in Denver for the DNCC. I have my own business. I get to have sleepovers at the boyfriends! I have a great bunch of care-givers* who look after me when Mom's out of town. I've been interviewed on television. And I have my own blog. HOW COOL IS THAT!

So do me a favor....pups - hug your peeps. Peeps - hug your pups. LOVE - it's the most important feeling in the world....even when it seems to break your heart.

Abbey Update #1

My cab ride this morning.

First of all - a big shout out to the NYC cabbie who picked us up today for our journey from Bideawee Clinic on E 38th to the AMC on E 62.

I don't take cabs often - and Mom even brought a blanket so I would not leave too much Abbey Fur behind. (Like someone might find too much of me a problem) The cabbie was very nice to both us of and we were very grateful.

Second of all - a big THANK YOU to everyone who left a message of encouragement on my blog. Hearing from so many friends helped our spirit. I know it means the world to me - and I know it helps Mom as well. Let's face it - she's a weeper.

At AMC this morning they did a needle aspiration to test the mass on my lung. We'll get the results tomorrow and will let everyone know what it all means. Of course in order to do this they shaved a circle on my left side. The same side with my scar from the cancer of '06 on my elbow. The same side as my bum ear. It just that means that now when you take photos of me - I do have a good side (the right side)! I think all the bumps and scars just add character!

Due is coming over to hang out for a bit tonight to keep me company. I think it's so the 2 legged ones can have wine and pizza and stare at me. I'll be fine. It's a journey. Not sure where this one is leading me - but it will be an adventure.

I promise to keep you up to date. (I think making Mom type for me and take photos will keep her preoccupied so she doesn't worry too much - at least that's my plan).

Say A Prayer for Abbs

Abbey's Mom here. Abbey has not been feeling well for the past week. She hasn't been eating - except for a biscuit here and there. After a week of this we headed to the vet this morning.

An x-ray seems to indicate that the cancer she fought 4 years ago - has returned. This time to her lungs. Abbey is staying at the vets for the next 48 hours. She'll get some fluids - and we're hoping that this is just a little lung infection - and after some fluids, etc - she'll bounce back. After all - we didn't see a tumor - just cloudy lungs. Of course we never went to medical school and had no idea what we were looking at! We'll see. The next 24 hours will tell.

We have an appointment with Abbey's oncologist at the Animal Medical Center on Thursday. If the fluids don't do the trick - that's the next step. And yes, Abbey has an oncologist.

In the meantime - please keep Abbey in your thoughts and prayers. I did take a snapshot of her at the vet's this morning - but she looked so sad I don't think that's how she'd like you to think of her. So this is one of my favorite pics - one happy (and silly) pup.

We will let you know as soon as we have news. In the meantime I'm heading back to see my girl this afternoon loaded up with her favorite biscuits - and favorite toys. We're taking the squirrel , the bunny, and of course - her very own Air Force One.

UPDATE: Tues. 5:30pm. I just got back from visiting hours. Abbs is responding well to the IV fluids and antibiotics. She's eaten almost a whole can of Wellness Turkey - and had SEVERAL biscuits with me. (Her favorites are the Tartar Check Biscuits from Nutro.

Our appointment with the oncologist has been moved up to 11:30am tomorrow. I will post an update following that visit.

Meet Cooper

Coop(er) is the newest member of the Brunch Bunch.

He's a 10 week old rescue from Tennessee. Border Collie & Flat Coat Retriever Mix.

Face it - he's just plain adorable.

Michael was a very proud Poppa.

And Max was a very sweet big brother. Max knows the routine - as Michael rescued him several years ago. I'm sure he'll show Coop the ropes.

Of course since Coop was getting all the "OMG it's a PUPPY attention" - Max did what any smart pup would do - he found the nearest table where he could work his charm and get bagels from a baby! Trust me - he worked it well!

I guess brunch can be pretty exhausting if you're not use to it. But then there's nothing wrong with catching a little shut-eye in Central Park!

Meet my friend 'Liv (short for Olivia of course).

She came to NYC to work on a special project last week - and stayed over the weekend to play with us (meaning ME). I had to take her to Central Park for our Saturday morning ritual. After all, this is what we city girls do.

The weekend was full of NYC fun. A Broadway play on Saturday night. Late night dessert after at the neighborhood coffee shop. Breakfast on Sunday (at the same coffee shop), the annual Broadway Flea Market (props, costumes, etc - great fun - I hear), shopping in SoHo, Lobster Rolls from Luke's on E 81st.

I was excluded from all of the above activities with the exception of Central Park. Do you think it had anything to do with the fact that they caught me rolling on a dead squirrel in the Park?

I'm a DOG, people. It's what I do!

I hear Miss 'Liv is coming back to help Mom out with the New Year's Eve coverage from Times Square this year. Do you think if I refrain from further dead squirrel rolling - they'll let me hang out with them to watch the ball drop? And why does the ball drop? Can I chase it?

We made our first journey to Central Park in over a month. There's so much to do we might have to go back tomorrow!

Wow! Now THAT was a storm!

Last night's thunderstorm was a whopper. Fortunately for us - the bulk of the damage was in Brooklyn and Queens. We were fine here in Manhattan.

Truth be known - the lightning made Mom jump - I on the other hand - just chilled - until it was over. We went for a quick spin in the neighborhood. All trees standing. All power on!

Thanks to everyone for checking on us. We're fine....and TOMORROW we're heading back to Central Park! We haven't been to my Park since the incident with the fountain (and the surgery on my ear that followed).

I promise to post a full report tomorrow. Well - Mom will post and I will be in my post-park coma!

Always Remember

Today we remember all of those lost on September 11, 2001.

We're new New Yorkers. We moved here post 9-11. I never saw the Towers -

although Mom tells me they were magnificent.

As we walked to the vets this morning - past the UN - we were surprised to see over 30 NYPD squad cars. The command bus was there. Officers were gathered getting their assignments for the day. Everyone was on high alert. It was another reminder that things will never be as they were prior to the attacks on America.

Today we honor those who lost their lives on that brisk, beautiful September morning.

For some - they had merely gone to the office that day - for others - they rushed into harms way to do their job - savings others.

We came across this post today at Wild About Pets. It tells the story of many of the search and rescue dogs who helped out at Ground Zero and the Pentagon.

So on this, another beautiful brisk September morning in NYC - Remember the families of those lost, the first responders who still suffer the aftereffects, and those who decided that day to serve their country in response.

Saturday morning started with an outing to Litchfield, CT.

A beautiful colonial town with it's own white stemple church on the village green.

Then there was shopping....

and we waited.

Even though I promised to keep my tail in check - Mom was afraid I'd swing through

the antique shops and knock every thing over. So Due and I waited...AGAIN.

What can I say - I think I was meant for the country life!

Weekend in Connecticut- Part 1

We're packed and ready and hitting the road...to Connecticut!

Due and his peeps have spent an entire week relaxing at a lake house in Bethlehem, CT.

Mom and I headed up to join them for the weekend.

The most important word being LAKE of course.

(NOTE: Abbs was allowed to de-cone for the drive once she settled into the car)

Check out this lake. I was so excited I ran ahead and forgot to let Mom take off the cone.

I just had to check things out. A dock - a canoe - a LAKE.

Oops. Guess I should have waited for the de-coning before jumping in!

Due is NOT a fan of the water - so he had to check me over once I was back safely on the dock.

Then it's back to the deck for the rubdown.

Mom gave me a serious toweling off. Due wanted no part of this. Per vet's instructions Mom dried me off and then some! I could lay here all afternoon for a rubdown. The ears were flushed and cleaned. I was then allowed to dry off in the sunshine - au natural.

We had a great time with Due and the Peeps. We got home a few hours ago and promise to post more pictures of our adventures tomorrow.

Time to nap. Weekends in Connecticut are exhausting!

A NEW Kind of ConeHead!

LOVE IT!

Don't let the look on my face fool you. I can work this pout face for another 13 days...and I plan to do just that. However, I have a NEW CONE! A new FABULOUS cone. I couldn't be happier - just don't let Mom know.

That's right - it's a "Comfy Cone" thanks to a very special pal of mine. It came in the mail yesterday -addressed to ME - all the way from the Amazon. JackDaddy had suggested Mom look at the new cone options. She wasn't sure - thinking I might not like the darkness of this padded model. Then cousin Mags suggested the same thing. I LOVE IT.

Ah - look - it's a little me right there on the tag!

If any of you guys are in need of a conehead - you might want to give this one a try.

13 days until the stitches come out...6 days until we go to someplace called "Connecticut".

CONE-FREE

As free as the wind blows....as free as the grass grows...CONE FREE

Forgive me Jimmy Webb (and congrats to those of you who get that very OLD reference).

No - I'm not really FREE - it was just a momentary break from the imprisonment of the dreaded CONE.

When we WALKED home (14 blocks!) from the vets on Monday after my checkup - we did so in a downpour. We're city girls. We walk rain or shine. Although Mom dried me off (love a good rubdown) when we got home - she didn't take the cone off. Hours later as I was pouting (monster pout at that) - Mom discovered my neck was still soaked. (OK - sometimes - Mom is a little blonder than others).

To make amends - she took the CONE off - and gave me another good rubdown around the neck. But she insisted on sitting with me on the floor and tried to distract me with a belly rub. I had no problem with that. Unfortunately - I started to itch - and before I knew it the CONE was back on.

The good news is - Mom has figured out that we can have an hour "CONE-Free Belly Rub, Combing" session every night after dinner.

Life is all about the compromises. I let Mom take the CONE off - give me extra treats, rubs etc. In return she gets to feel (a little) less guilty.

CONE-Bed

I refuse to let this cone thing get in the way of my relaxing! Although it takes up half the bed - I can still make it fit!

I had my first post-surgery followup visit this morning. There's good news and bad news.

The good being that I am healing well. The bad - stitches (and cone) must stay in place for 3- AND A HALF WEEKS. I thought it was 3. Mom was hoping for 2 - but the truth is 3-1/2 it is.

The best news - the vet gave me permission to go swimming over Labor Day weekend! Mom just has to dry my ears well (and flush them out of course) - and put the cone back on - but I still get to go swimming. I'm hearing rumors of Cape Cod - or a country Lake House. Either way - paddle up boys - I'm going swimming!

You know you've found true love when he's there for you even on your worst days....

Mom raced in the apartment after work and said we had to do a quick change and head out - "someone was waiting". The way she was rushing around you'd think George Clooney was outside - but we all know he's in Italy with the skinny model of the moment, I mean girlfriend.

Who could it be? Mom said I can't see Due for a few more days.....and I'm not really looking my best. I'm surprised this conehead accessory can even fit in the elevator.

Mom said when she was walking up the street towards the apartment he was there. Laying on the sidewalk across the street, opposite our front door. Just waiting. Willing for me to appear. It sounds like only one man to me....

That's right - The Du Man.

Of course this STUPID cone is bigger than he is. I was so embarrassed. But that didn't matter to him. He was very gentle - and although he usually can't wait to lick my ears and bite my face - he knew. He just knew. He didn't judge. He didn't run away in horror.

He was my knight in shining armor.

He checked out the scene and cleared the way to make sure it was safe for me to go. And then like the true gentleman he is - and knowing that I can't see side to side....he lead me on our walk.

That's right. The guy who's always pawing me, biting me, licking me, charging full force into me for a body slam....just lead me on a little walk around the 'hood. Now this is love.

Does This Cone Make My Snout Look BIG?

I hate the cone!

I can't see. I can't play. And I think Mom used an old one. The least she could have done was get me this season's latest style. What was she thinking? Don't even think of trying to get away with calling this thing "vintage".

Apparently I have to wear this for THREE WEEKS. For those of you who are still a little fuzzy on what 3 weeks in people time equals in STP (Standard Puppy Time) that's 21 weeks. That's like 5 MONTHS.

Are you kidding me?????

Mom had to put my water bowl on the floor as I can't get this darn cone around my lovely raised feeder. Jeez!

I asked Mom to stay away from photographing my bad side. My ear has been shaved, and I have 30 stitches. Trust me - it's not pretty. I start the meds tomorrow.

I want to thank the nice people at Bideawee here in Manhattan. They are the lovely folks who fixed me up. I even got to spend the day hanging out with a yellow lab who was in the jail cell next to me. We did our best to help each other get free of the silly tubes they were sticking us with. If we only had a little more time I'm sure we could broken out and been FREEEEE!

I think I'll take a few extra long naps in the coming days. I heard them give Mom instructions, and I don't know how Due's going to feel about the "no play time for 3 weeks". Maybe we can go for a walk. He just has to keep his paws to himself. That might be difficult for Romeo.

Thanks for all of your well wishes. Mom will keep you updated on my recovery. Just remember - If you have floppy ears - and don't want them shaved and stitched - CLEAN YOUR EARS! (Meaning of course - let your peeps clean them for you and just relax - they are trying to help - don't fight it - just enjoy the pampering!)

Abbey had her surgery this morning. I just got the call from the vet's office letting me know that the surgery went well - and that Abbs is still napping. I will pick her up later this afternoon.

Just as we were about to head to the vet's....I got a phone call.

The Doctor called out sick! So I get a reprieve for one week.

Surgery has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

Ears back - universal sign of not a happy canine camper!

We went to the vets today - and it appears I get to go back tomorrow...

FOR SURGERY!!!!

Turns out my bum (bloated) ear flap is indeed a "hematoma" - HOWEVER - it's not ALL my fault.

I have chronic ear infections. It happens to those of us blessed with floppy ears.

Apparently though - if the one in the household WITH THUMBS....(you KNOW who I'm talking about)...If she had cleaned my ears better and more often... I would not have been scratching so much...which would not have weakened the blood vessels....which would not have then burst when I shook my head after the fountain dive.

I'm sure I can work this for all it's worth.

Tomorrow I go in for the operation. I heard mention of 30 stitches and a conehead.

Mom drops me off in the morning - and will pick me up in the afternoon.

I've made her promise that she will do a post tomorrow night to let everyone know I'm just fine. (I do expect lots of hugs and rubs and maybe some guilt induced treat baking).

So the lesson learned here....CLEAN YOUR EARS....and it you can't reach - have the 2-legged ones do it for you! Pretend it's pampering!

The joke appears to be on Abbey - while at breakfast after her "misadventure" I noticed that her left ear flap felt like a water balloon - squishy. I called the vet - who said it sounded like a hematoma - caused by violently shaking ones head - and bursting blood vessels in the ear. Yep - now we have an appointment for Monday - where Abbs will probably need to have her ear surgically drained...ALL BECAUSE SHE JUMPED INTO "SOMETHING" "SOMEWHERE" and got soaked...then shook her head so hard in an effort to dry off - that she hurt herself!

Wait a minute - since Abbs doesn't have a checking account and no funds of her own to pay for above mentioned vet visit - I guess the joke's on me. Good thing she's so cute!

Her hi jinx were videotaped by a tourist in the park this morning. We're keeping out fingers crossed that she does not show up on You Tube.

NEW STUFFIE....

Gee - can you guess where Mom was?

She's been traveling about once a month lately and it seems to be connected to this plane.

No - she didn't ride on it (although she did once and was happy to check that off her bucket list).

Mom was in Atlanta covering the President's address to the DAV Convention.

And while she's away I get to sleepover at my beau's house...not a bad deal.

PLUS - she feels guilty (what is it with the 2-legged ones and the guilt trips). The answer to this uncomfortable feeling....buy me a toy!

BINGO.

I now have my very own AIR FORCE ONE....and instead of a squeak...it makes a jet engine noise. COOL.

What do your peeps do for you when they are feeling guilty? Let me know as I can pass them on to Mom and my goody bag might get bigger! (I don't think that's wrong...seriously)

By the way - Mom picked up this little gem at gift shop at the The Carter Center in Atlanta. The sales clerk said it was for a child - not a dog toy. Mom knew better. (And she checked it for small bits I might chew off...like I would ever do such a thing. )

After what seemed like a year and a half (ok - it was a mere 4 weeks*)....we returned to Central Park this morning to spend the day - like a dog should....ROMPING! ZOOMING!

Everything was just a blur...

We raced...

Don't laugh. The little guy is strong and loves to just knock me over!

I rest.....he charges from behind (and I LOVE it)

From where I lay....this is the PERFECT way to start the day. Of course Mom needs coffee - but that's fine with me. I've learned...at least here in the Park, where there's coffee...THERE'S BACON!

I hope all of you are enjoying this beautiful Saturday with your peeps. Ran. Laugh. Nap.

I wanted to share a special mat that we made for a special friend.

ELSIE - is Miss Amy's pup.

We thought since Miss Amy's spent her vacation here with us in NYC helping Central Bark Designs with our Lincoln Center Craft Show - she deserved a special mat of her own.

Date Night

It was yet ANOTHER hot week in NYC - so I have not been able to spend much time with my beau, Due. When it's this hot we don't get to meet up after work for a spin, and we haven't been in CENTRAL PARK in weeks.

All is not lost, Due invited me over to his place Friday night. (OK - Fine - In 2-legged speak - Tom & Deborah invited Mom over for a summer dinner of crabcakes, corn and tomato salad - but I got to tag along)

Due was such a gentleman - he made sure to point out the best spot for A/C action.

Then proceeded to lick my face for half an hour. Why? Why does he do this? I mean it's nice - for a couple of minutes - but this guy would go to town all night if I let him. Men!

So we're staying' in and catching up on our movies. Mom's working on some new designs and getting things organized. I'm enjoying the cooling powers of my own personal floor fan.

I'm hoping to make it out to 47th Street Plaza this week with my Aunt Dana. They finally opened the outdoor bar we hung out at last year.

I've heard Mom talking about this place called "The Cape". Seems she's thinking about running away for a long weekend. I'm hoping that since it's a place she can drive to - she'll take me with her! I've already started campaigning. Wish me luck!

Our friend, Farley, had a great suggestion. He knew we'd be suffering through another steaming New York City Heat Advisory this weekend...so he suggested we cool off by DREAMING OF....

It may have been a hot steamy weekend, but Due was here for a sleepover....I told him about Farely's suggestion and we both had sweet snow dreams.

Unfortunately, I think Due may have had a flashback to this painful adventure....OUCH.

We had a great time just hanging around in the AC. Playing. (We de-clawed the crab! I don't think we were suppose to do that - but now it matches the 3-legged kong frog).

Stay cool. Drink LOTS of water....and dream of SNOW!

Sunday, Due's Mom had a great idea for an outing - instead of making the trek to Central Park - which on many days turns into a 4 hour adventure - we went for a leisurely stroll along the Riverwalk.

I found a great spot to watch the boats go by...

Due was chillin' in the shade....

WHAT? Mind your own business. So I found a couple of sticks in here. A little privacy please.

Then I heard the 2 Moms talking about stopping by a nearby sidewalk cafe....for some "refreshments"

This is NOT what I had in mind. Oh Waiter....

NOTE TO MAYOR BLOOMBERG....just because the West Side has their new "Hi-Line" Park - please remember our East Side Riverwalk. Although it's a great place to take a stroll, it is in terrible condition. Shrubs chopped off, all weeds, empty planters, no grass. Broken benches and missing cobblestones. At one point the barricades and "caution" tape have been up so long - the yellow tape is bleached white by the sun.

It was a little cooler in New York today....but wiser (2-legged) ones decided the BIG (Central) Park might be a little too much for those of us with fur...so we opted for the neighborhood dog run. No worries, Mom and Aunt D still managed to find iced coffee for our morning adventure. (Do you think it's possible for them to function without coffee...I have serious doubts).

There are lots of trees for shade and benches for our peeps. We hung out for a couple hours and enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning in the city.

I was happy just to be outside...in the shade...and with my buddies.

How does he make his back legs do that?

We're still laughing at these cute faces!

Yep - everyone was in the mood to just hang out and chill.

I hear there's a gang going to the Park tomorrow - but we're going to stay close to home. I think Mom is overreacting to my "heat issue", but I guess it's better to play it safe.

I hope the rest of my friends who suffered earlier this week with the heat wave are recovering. I do have one tip for you. If you give your peeps one of those, "oh man, I can't believe how I have suffered" looks...you will get lots of extra pets and more importantly...EXTRA TREATS....you might even get ice cubes in your water bowl!

Hot Enough for Ya?

I'm a little over heated here in the big city. 100+ is not proper city girl weather.

Thanks to Due's Mom for checking on me this afternoon. Apparently the A/C is not enough for me. I'm not hungry and don't really see the need to leave the apartment - at all. Mom has positioned my own personal fan on the floor to cool me off directly.

I bet Sierra Rose and Ben are enjoying the California cool. Farley is probably chillin' out west as well. However I'm pretty sure Connor is in the same sweltering boat that I'm in down there in Baltimore.

Any one out there have any tips for keeping a golden girl in a full length fur coat cool in this heat?

The Name Game

We're joining in the fun by playing Frankie's Name Game.

My official name (not the registered - because even though I had papers...Mom never got around to filing them!)...Abigail Marie ....known as Abbey.

My first given name was Sunflower....but I was returned to my breeder after my first family discovered their 4 yr. old was allergic to me. Mom didn't think "Sunny" fit.

Here's the breakdown....Abigail...because Mom is a White House history buff - and Abigail Adams was the first First Lady to take up residence in the White House (besides - if she named me Martha - folks would assume it's after Stewart - not Washington).

Nicknamed "Abbey" because I'm british. Get it Abbey Road, Westminster Abbey....

Marie - because Mom always planned on giving an actual daughter that middle name. (It's her Mom's middle name). Since it just didn't seem to be in the cards for an actual 2 legged one - I got the honor instead. (Hope I make you proud Tutu!)

Of course when I'm in trouble, like most kids - I go by all THREE names. When I'm cute it's "Abaliciuos" and when Mom can't figure out what I'm up to or why - it's "Sparky the Wonder Dog".

Tap Water is Fine

He is NOT drinking from the fountain, but is being served a fresh stream of NYC's finest tap water....into his bowl....and drinks from the bowl. Brilliant!

I know they say that "dog is man's best friend" - but let me tell you- I could learn a lot about this "best friend" business from Miss Amy.

Amy and Mom have been the best of friends for over 20 years. They have weathered bad boyfriends, divorces, cross country moves, celebrations of new loves, new jobs, lousy jobs, "what am I doing this for" jobs, the loss of beloved pets, the aging of one's parents, changing styles, expanding waistlines, weight watchers and the greying of hair. Through it all - because of it all - they got through it with tears, cookie dough, and a lot of laughs. And by laughs - I do mean "laugh so hard it brings tears to your eyes" kind of laughs.

Amy took her vacation to come to NYC to help Mom with last weekend's craft show. After 3 long - hot days of hard work, it was time to relax. Nobody gets Mom to relax like Miss Amy. Now I'm not saying Mom is uptight - but in 51 years - she has NEVER come home with a bright RED pedicure! Until now that is. (The toe rings are Miss Amy's - of course).

For 2 days following the show - they laughed, they shopped, they even drank margaritas in the middle of the afternoon! (If you find yourself in NYC - Dos Caminos on 3rd & E 50th St. Lovely margaritas - and killer guacamole).

Yes - they are the classic Mary & Rhoda friendship. Amy will always be the cooler hip friend trying to pull Mom into the 21st Century. (You should have seen her try to convince Mom that she could pull off the True Religion skinny jean look....)

Amy headed back to Florida this morning. They went to the coffee shop at the corner for one more "Seinfeld" breakfast, came back and grabbed the big black (overstuffed) suitcase and hailed a cab to take Miss Amy to the airport. We're both a little sad, but as we sit here, with yet another cup of coffee, we realize how very lucky we are.

We have dear friends here in the city - but I hope everyone of you is lucky enough to have that one best friend. The one who knows you better than you know yourself. The one who will be there with you through thick and thin. Never judge, always support you (even when she knows that the guy you're dating is going to break your heart...she'll never say I told you so - but she will always have the big bowl of cookie dough with 2 spoons at the ready!).

Safe travels Miss Amy - and thanks for teaching Mom that I should always get a cookie BEFORE my breakfast!

The BIG Show

We've been baking for TWO DAYS...and putting the finishing touches on our dog place mats.

TOMORROW starts the BIG SHOW at Lincoln Center.

I will be hanging out in the AC with Due - but Mom and best bud Aunt Amy will be representing CENTRAL BARK DESIGNS at the American Crafts Festival in NYC (at Lincoln Center). If you are in the city - stop by booth #N-233 (North side of the Opera House) and say hello.

Today's package was special. Not only was it for me (my favorite kind) - but it went to help a good cause (one of Mom's favorite things)

This one clearly was for me.

They have the coolest store on 5th Avenue.

They are open 24/7

Free Wi-Fi in the adjoining Plaza. Yes, I can blog from there - I haven't - but I can!

I'M ALLOWED IN THE APPLE STORE and they are VERY friendly (lots of attention for moi)

The store is UNDERGROUND...so it is very cool in the hot summer months

I get to laugh at how "un-hip" Mom is...

Seriously People - she just figured out how to use iTunes!

Aunt Amy works for Apple - which is why Mom got a MacBook, which made it very easy for

you to perform her duties as my blog editor in chief.
