Now that is a warmth and Xmassy lesson! We jes talked to our grandma in NY, and she said there were a few snow flurries happnin' there - that fire ought to warm everyone's heart. Big Hugs xoxoxo Sammie and Avalon
I no longer have a fireplace but several years ago when Duncan needed emergency surgery to save his life ad I did have one, we brought him home from the vet hospital and laid him down in front of the fire on his bed. Although he was dazed and uncomfortable, I don't think I've ever seen him so utterly relaxed. That fireplace seemed to radiate peace and safety to him and he trusted us to take care of him. To this day when we go home and visit my family, Duncan likes to conk out on the floor in front of her fireplace. And quite often I'll snuggle up next to him. There is nothing finer, I'm convinced.
I love this photo of Abbey looking so content (and I noticed there's just enough room for Due to curl up beside her). My favourite fireplace memory is the time we had a cookout in the living room. I got to snuggle AND eat steak, baked potato and marshmellows on sticks for dessert!
My Name is Ellie (for Eleanor Roosevelt). I am following in the pawprints of my Big Sister, Abbey. Born in September '10 - I arrived in NYC on Jan 2, 2011. Let the fun begin!

We have a wood stove, not a fireplace, but I agree that there is nothing better than getting cozy in front of it!

Ah yes! Must have the lovely orange glow, and warmth for those crisp chilly eves. Mmmmmm, thank you.

Mmm...that looks heavenly :)
That's a good one. I have been telling Blog Mom to fire up the new fake fireplace. It burns gel fuel and it's about time we give it some use.
lotsa licks, Lola
