Rollin' On The River

This is our river. The East River.
It's much nicer than David Letterman would lead you to believe.

Sunday, Due's Mom had a great idea for an outing - instead of making the trek to Central Park - which on many days turns into a 4 hour adventure - we went for a leisurely stroll along the Riverwalk.

I found a great spot to watch the boats go by...

Due was chillin' in the shade....

WHAT? Mind your own business. So I found a couple of sticks in here. A little privacy please.

Then I heard the 2 Moms talking about stopping by a nearby sidewalk cafe....for some "refreshments"

This is NOT what I had in mind. Oh Waiter....

NOTE TO MAYOR BLOOMBERG....just because the West Side has their new "Hi-Line" Park - please remember our East Side Riverwalk. Although it's a great place to take a stroll, it is in terrible condition. Shrubs chopped off, all weeds, empty planters, no grass. Broken benches and missing cobblestones. At one point the barricades and "caution" tape have been up so long - the yellow tape is bleached white by the sun.

Remington - the reason Mom hasn't taken me here before is the East River has a deadly current. Jumping in the water is dangerous. (And it's a big jump). Still - there's a nice breeze and it's pretty so I'm good with just a stroll! - Abbey

What a nice stroll! And, those refreshments...where's the snaggle sticks? Yet, looks delish for the humans :)
Hope the Mayor takes notice and draws up an improvement plan!!!!

Hugs & snaggle-tooth kisses,

I hope they get your river park fixed up soon. Blog Mom says she's always amazed at how fancy and fixed up most parts of the city are compared to when she lived there. But you know who was mayor when she lived there? Robert Wagner, that's who. That means it was about 500 years ago.

I love the picture of you enjoying your sticks Abbey :) My Mom is also a bit jealous of the refreshment break - it would be nice to sit there and people watch!

I told my Momma to go east to find you. She was hanging on the westside for a week and oh boy it was HOT!!! She is crazy and doesn't go east, says there is nothing like a view of lady liberty from the apartment in battery park. Maybe one day I will get to go.
